Writing, people and tags
Entries are plain Markdown in plain files. People and things are tagged differently, because they are different.
Entries
Write in Markdown. Each day is stored as a plain file in your iCloud Drive, readable in any text editor, with or without Muninn.
@people and #things
To a computer, Marcus and Paris are both a string of letters. To you, Marcus is a friend and Paris an experience. So people get an @ and places and things a #: @Marcus, #Paris.
A sigil only counts at the start of a word, so an email address never becomes a person and a link with a #fragment never becomes a tag.
Promoting a hashtag
Journals from Day One and other apps only know hashtags. Muninn can promote a hashtag to a person across all your writing at once. On twelve years of diaries it takes a few seconds.
