Muninn 1.0 · Walden
On TestFlight, coming to the App Store
Henry David Thoreau, Walden, 1854. Two years in a cabin by Walden Pond, written down day by day.
The log version (he lived in a log cabin) and the first release. If you tested the betas called 1.1 and 1.2: nothing after 1.0 made it through App Review, so it’s all in here, and your days come along untouched.

Chapters
Spans of time, from a week cat-sitting at a friend’s to 500 miles across Spain to Santiago de Compostela. Muninn suggests chapters on its own, with names and places from on-device machine learning; accept, reject or edit them. Add chapter logs one now or adds one for days long past.
Checking in
Today’s toolbar has a pin: pick a moment Apple noticed, and Muninn shows the places it found next to what’s already on those days. Apple Journal exports come in whole: entries join their days, a day that already has writing is offered for merging and never replaced, and places become check-ins after the same review. Nothing is added until you say so.
This date on a map
The Map button on the river shows today’s date across all your years, one colour per year. Tap a cluster to zoom in, a pin to open its day.
Settings
Five pages. Sources is grouped, Calendar starts off and asks when you switch them on, and Sync Recent for Swarm and Träwelling sits on the front page. A Face ID lock under Privacy (off by default), and “Remind me to sync” nudges you when an account hasn’t synced in a while.
Folding phones
The bottom bar moves to where it makes most sense as the phone folds and unfolds, and the editor respects the half-folded posture, so you can type on the go.
