Check-ins
Your iPhone notices places you’ve been (always, that’s a function of Apple’s “significant location”). Muninn can turn them into check-ins on your days, after you’ve looked over them.
Checking in
Muninn offers a few ways to add “where I’ve been that day” to your journal.
Swarm
Muninn can import Swarm checkins. If you’re using Swarm, there’s no reason not to keep a permanent copy with your diary.
Apple Journaling Suggestions
On iPhone, today’s toolbar has a pin. Tap it and pick a moment Apple noticed. Muninn shows the places it found next to what’s already on those days.
(coming soon) Huginn
Huginn is Muninn’s companion app, its sibling watching over you as you go about your stay. Huginn’s Timeline is stored safely in Apple’s iCloud (same as Muninn’s) and only accessible to you. If Huginn is installed, the pin button opens it, instead of Apple Journaling to check in. Muninn also imports Huginn’s timeline (if switched on in Settings) automatically and add it to your days.
Nothing is added until you say so
Places that look like ones already there, say from Swarm, start switched off, so the same café doesn’t land on a day twice. Switch on what you want and add it. Apple Journal imports go through the same review.
