Muninn
Guide: Nothing to set up

Nothing to set up

Most of what a day holds, Muninn finds on its own: on your phone, or in two public sources that never learn who is asking.

Photos and Calendar

Photos asks the first time you open a day. Calendarstarts off, and asks when you switch it on in Settings → Sources. A source you’ve switched off is never read.

Settings → Sources → Calendars to Include narrows the river to the calendars that mean something. Leave it empty to show all of them.

Refused a prompt and changed your mind? iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, then Photos, or Calendars, then Muninn.

Weather and world history

Neither needs an account, a key or a decision from you.

The weather comes from Open-Meteo, which receives a coordinate rounded to roughly a kilometre and a date, and nothing that identifies you. World history comes from Wikipedia’s “On this day”, through Wikimedia, which receives the month and the day: not the year, and nothing else.

Both can be switched off in Settings → Sources, after which they’re never contacted.
